We will professionally install a discretely concealed, customized system of nozzles and risers around the perimeter of your yard which will virtually eliminate mosquitoes, flies, spiders, wasps, and other biting insects. The system is automatic. Our unique patent-pending dusk-dawn sensor will spray the pyrethrum at dusk and dawn when mosquitoes are most active. You can also use the provided remote control to manually spray anytime of the day.

When comparing our system with others:

Are their nozzles and risers as small, attractive, and discreet as ours? How many stations (nozzles and risers) are included in their bid as compared to ours? Do they have a dusk-dawn sensor, or a timer that will need to be continually recalibrated? Are they going to require you to commit to a monthly contract? We don't require monthly contracts. We simply refill & check your system on an as needed basis. Refills are needed about every 3 months during the mosquito season.

Mosquito Misting System Installation

Our professional team will install your mosquito misting system so that it will be virtually invisible, taking great care not to disrupt the beauty of your yard. We will run the small nylon supply lines along your fence, the eaves or your home, and bury them around the perimeter so that they go unnoticed. This will give you a virtually maintenance-free, bug-free yard for years to come. Installation can typically be accomplished during the course of one working day.

This system is controlled by a unique patent-pending dusk-dawn sensor that sprays a safe botanical insecticide at dusk and dawn when mosquitoes are most active.

The times that dusk and dawn occur are constantly changing. The sensor allows the system to correctly spray at dusk and dawn which maximizes the effectiveness of our sprays, as opposed to other systems that run on timers.

Mosquito Mist Insecticide

5 Star Mosquito Control uses the botanical insecticide called pyrethrum in its misting systems. Pyrethrum is extracted from chrysanthemum flowers. Pyrethrum is biodegradable and is low in toxicity. It has been widely used to dip domestic pets to rid them of fleas. It is also used on horse ranches and to dip livestock, as well as on organic fruit and vegetable farms.

Pyrethrum breaks down quickly so it will not cause residue on the surfaces around your home and there are no unpleasant fumes or odors.

West Nile Virus

West Nile cases have increased year over year with over 3600 being reported in the U.S. in 2006 alone. The greater DFW area represents almost 4% of that total with over 130 cases reported so far this year.

West Nile Virus has spread rapidly across North America, affecting thousands of birds, horses, and humans, since it was discovered in the Western hemisphere. WNV swept from the New York City region in 1999 to almost all of the continental U.S., 7 Canadian provinces, and throughout Mexico and parts of the Caribbean by 2004

West Nile has been detected in at least 48 species of mosquitoes, over 250 species of birds, and at least 18 mammalian species, including humans. A good way to help prevent WNV infection in humans is to avoid mosquito bites

In temperate regions, West Nile virus follows a seasonal pattern that begins in late spring, with the peak time for infection occurring in late summer and early fall a^ usually August and September. People living in southern climates may run the risk of infection year-round.
